I bought my '85 Carrera cab a few months ago, and am slowly doing things to make it mine.
So far the Steve Wong chip, M&K pre muffler, JWest light relay and H4 headlights have been positive changes, but less visible. So this past weekend, since I had to be close to the house anyway, I looked after some tired looking Fuchs.
So with some spare time, and no desire to send the wheels off during prime top down driving weather, I did this...

Those look great! Durability is always the question, but the chance to drive all summer with them carries a lot too.

One nit-picking detail -- Install those pretty center caps so the bottom point of the Porsche shield is aimed at the tire valve. It's a half-point detail that's extra-easy to solve.

They look great, the sheen in particular looks just right. What paint did you use?

Yeah, that's a definite oversight on my part.

Going to let the center caps patina a bit then apply VHT satin clear over all but the anodized lips. Hopefully it will extend the life of the work, but it wasn't that hard so redoing it every few years isn't a problem.
