What’s going on here.

Anyone have a clue what is going on here from the previous owner. It’s the same on both sides. Just very odd with the clear RTV and the circle of different color paint. Sorry door jamb is so dirty. Lol. Still in the process of bringing this car back to life after being off the road for 20 years.

Aftermarket alarm? Any corresponding marks/holes on the inside edge of the door?

I was kind of thinking that myself, I just found it odd that it is all removed. Never thought to check the inside of the door. I was also thinking if it was some kind of aftermarket alarm I would think there would be a hole in the middle for a wire to pass through.

Alarm sensor makes sense at first, but where does the signal go from there? I'd expect a hole in the center.
You didn't just buy a Porsche, you bought a mystery and and likely also an adventure.

An ugly install could have had the wires visible in the door jamb, or they could have fed into the door if the sensor was a two-part magnet arrangement. After seeing what Circuit City did to install an alarm in my car in 1987 --

Oh you don’t know half the mystery. Lol. This car had an engine fire. But not bad enough to blister the paint on the hood but all of the under hood insulation was melted all over the fender wells and engine. Engine harness was melted in places. Timing belt cover had a little damage but the plastic timing belt rollers were melted. I’m beginning to wonder if they were attempting to install and alarm system and caught it on fire. I found a bracket screwed in by the battery that looked like a horn mount. The wires to the horn were cut along with the wires going to the ac pressure switch like they cut the wrong wire at first. Also the big wire to the ignition switch under the dash was cut. Here’s pics of when I got the car and then a pic of now. New expansion tank is on order. Lol
