I’m looking at upgrading the exhaust on my NA but $800 for a dansk catback seems ridiculous to me. Slightly more volume but importantly better tone is what I’m going for. Since I don’t track the car I’m not worried about any power gains or losses but gains would always be appreciated. At this point I think buying a performance muffler and having it welded on by a shop would be my best bet, but what do you guys think?

I saw this while down in San Diego. I had to close the box top and walk away because it was calling my name.

Bursch just added it to their site. 16ga stainless 2.5in goodness.

My recently acquired 968 was unknowingly equipped with a Bursch header+downpipe and 2.5in ss catback exh. Silent at idle. Throaty up to 4.5k and ominous presence above that. No drone.

That Bursch exhaust system looks awesome! Of course, if BennSport finds the Dansk expensive at 800$, the Bursch isn't going to do it for him at 1100$! I'm seriously tempted by the whole Bursch system, but I'm also looking at lower cost options.
Over here in Yurp, we've got the Dansk which seems to be most people's first choice. It has the advantage of having CE/TUV certification, and over here you can get a heavy fine or not pass inspection for having an aftermarket exhaust w/o certification. It goes for around 800€ for the rear section, 400€ for the mid. (we didn't get cats until the 1990's, so most 944s have a center resonator instead of a cat)
The big Porsche parts supplier here in France "Rose Passion" has a no name stainless sport exhaust that comes in at 600€ for the rear section and 240€ for the mid.
There's a big mail order parts seller that carries a German based brand (but probably made in China) called "Vegaz" which is currently on sale at around 300€ for the rear section. I'm curious if anyone on this forum has had experience with this Vegaz brand? I can't even find out if its stainless or mild steel, but for the price, I'm assuming it's the latter.
