Does anyone track with their cabs?

I know that there are certain tracks that do not allow cabs to race on their track. I don't see why a cab couldn't race on the track.

Is it a safety issue due to less torsional rigidity or more dangerous in a roll over accident?

I really do not know. I think that each race track has their own guidelines.

Absolutely ! I realize this is an aged thread, let me know if you tracked a cab or received more input. I track my 991.1 S cab and did the same with my 997 cab.
These cars are amazing and absolutely engineered for this. Moreover, most 997 onward cabs have rollover protection built in.
PCA allows it, and they are the definitive authority in my books.
Better late than never to revive this topic lol
thx

have taken my 996 Cab to the track numerous times. Never a problem with track officials.
The 996 Cab has pop up rollover bars as i think all cabs do.
It would take one heck of a driver to push the chassis to the point that you would notice the difference in body stiffness between a coupe and a cab, just my opinion.
I have lots of mods, it's pretty quick and i have never felt close to it's limit.
The car is more capable than i am!
Last time at the track this year i ran Pagid yellow pads, first time with non street pads and it was a noticeable change.
Picked up 3 seconds a lap with later, harder braking. Zero brake fade. They do squeal like crazy until they get hot but really does raise the level of confidence in your brakes.

Good stuff, us Cab guys need to stick together ! Agreed the differences between coupe/cab track wise would only be noticeable at levels the majority of us don't reach. My last track session was in the wet, and that's a whole other challenge.
Appreciate the tip on Pagid pads, that's fantastic info !!
