Tire wear question

My '21 GTS 4.0 is equipped with Pirelli tires from the factory, and the dealer performed a four wheel alignment about 1000 miles ago. The car now has almost 5000 miles on it. The outside of the rear tires IA wearing excessively, will likely necessitate replacement in another 1000 or so. Will another alignment slow the wear or is this inevitable? I never got great wear from the rears on my '16 CGTS either, thus my question.

IMO, bite the bullet, ditch the Pirellis and buy a set of Michelin PS4’s

Hmmmm..... I have 4.2k on my Turbo S tires and they look brand new still. I may be a bit jaded, but wear on the ouside of one tire sounds like something isn't quite right. Given all you went through with the new motor, I'd be inclined to have the dealer re-check their work to make sure they didn't introduce a problem when they changed the motor.... If brand X wears on an outside edge, I imagine most brands would....

Michelin are definitely my choice when these wear out. Both rears are wearing on the outside edge, I'm inclined to think the dealer alignment is off.

I would definitely have the alignment checked before investing in a new set of Michelin's. Sounds like your camber is out of adjustment. Do you track the car?

No, I sold my dedicated track car several years ago and don't intend to put this one on the track.

Have them check your degree of negative camber. Sounds like you need more negative camber to counteract the excessive outside wear. Just have the camber set to normal factory specs especially if you do not track the car.
The Pirellis seem to be prone to excessive outside wear on the track even with -2.5 rear camber. How fast are you taking the corners on the street?

As fast as possible, it's a Porsche, not a Honda!
