Alternator belt size - is the 1000 mm size best?

The PET says cars with AC use the 6 ribbed x 1000 belt, which is 1000 mm in length. Do you guys like this size or is there any benefit to a slightly smaller (or larger) length? Kind of a nerdy question, but just asking anyway.

Interesting question! I think because the tensioning is done manually: there isn't really a benefit +/- a few mm. Unless maybe you had something in the way of or you had custom length turnbuckles.

The 6 rib 1000 Continental is a great belt and really well priced. I'd just get that one - no benefit to shorter or longer. Proper size and good material :thumbup:
