I was perusing a 968 forum that was mostly targeted to folks over the pond and then someone asked what a 968 that required some TLC would be worth on USA west coast.
Turns out the black 92 Coupe was in PDX. Yikes! But in the winter going over the pass can be sketchy. Nevertheless we jumped into our largest German SUV and off we went.
First problem was the steering wheel shook like crazy. Seller said wheel threw a weight. I wanted the car so I let that slide.
Driving home at FWY speed I was afraid of dislocating a shoulder. Stopped at a shop and was told front wheels were bent. I tried to find a sweet spot where the shaking was bearable. Had no speedo so hard to duplicate the speed.
2. Most of the gauges do not work. Speedo and oil pressure most concerning. TAch is fine.
3. Hatch will not open
4 Driver door will not open. Boy is it hard for an Octogenarian to crawl in thru passenger side seat! Window will not go down
5.Headlights: Met a friend from grad school. Supposed to be a two hour lunch. (had not seen each other since graduation!) It was dark when we were done. Turned on lights and only rt one popped up. Stopped for gas and it went down. As drove off only left was up.
Eventually both were up and would not go down
If anyone would be kind enough to send me links to how I can repair these issues I would be most grateful.
ANyone got a spare vehicle handbook. Yes, I know that is funny!

Despite these complaints I like the car and have to say it is one quick little booger. Faster than my 944S2. Certainly quicker and handles better than my first 911. Possible to outrun my 78 and 83 SC?

Thanks to Tom for making this all happen!

Photos!

Probably my least painful car story, but relatable. I acquired an 86 Mercedes and shortly after, took a friend to lunch. It begins to rain, really hard, the sunroof keeps blowing the fuse and wont close, lol. Finally closed after like 10 fuses... us and the interior are soaking wet. Good times.
