Side vent whistling....?

So I am slowly getting the new leather dash and related parts on the car, and was able to fire up the car to test the electronics, etc. before the final push. Pics to follow 
When I turn the blower up to 3 or 4, the driver side corner vent seriously whistles.... I can put my hand over the vent and stop the whistle completely and it seems like it's coming right at the vent, not deeper back.... I'll take it off and see if something is going on in there, but thought I'd ask if anyone else has seen this and/or if there's a known reason I should look out for?
