718 rev match

My 2024 Cayman S has 1,300 miles on it and I've noticed a minor issue with the auto rev match provided with Sport mode. The match is about 300 rpm short of where it needs to be for a perfect match, which results in a small lurch when re-engaging the clutch. Dealer tech says it's working perfectly - experience with my 911s and BMW Z4 says it isn't. Service advisor suggests complaining about it whenever I bring it in with the idea of getting a critical mass of complaints to prompt Porsche to devise a software update to address it. Anybody in the community experience a similar issue / have any advice?

I have a GTS so I believe it is a different engine however I do feel the auto rev match works perfectly.

I wonder if the 2.5T and the 4.0 strategy is different?

Does it do better at top of the RPM range vs mid of the rpm range?

Since you are using Sport mode, you obviously have Sport Chrono which, as I understand it, is required for the auto-blip function. Does it work any better in Sport Plus?

In any event, what you've described and what the dealer tech told you does not sound correct to me. Rev match should do just what it says, and it should do it accurately. Maybe a software reset of some sort will cure the ill.

I'm at my dealership regularly - will be there next week at some point I think and I'll ask. There are some outstanding techs and I get straight answers.

The gap is smaller at lower revs so not as noticeable but it's still there. I do notice it when exiting the freeway at 65 mph and downshifting from 6th to 4th which is when the 300 rpm gap is apparent.

Thanks, I'll check Sport Plus ... not sure I've tested that variant for the rev match effect. A software reset makes sense to me, so I'll call over there and ask.

Let us know what they say/do. I've only been in one Porsche with the Rev match feature and it was computer-controlled perfect as far as I could tell...

Will do. Taking it to the L A Auto Show in a couple days so lots of opportunities to test it. Waiting on call back from local dealer service.

Sport and Sport + behave the same. Have a couple videos my wife shot yesterday but can’t get them to load to CP. Will share with my service advisor.

@Mfibiandriver

Just a heads up on videos that they need to be linked to a hosting side such as YouTube or similar. Just copy/paste the link in your Carpokes post and you're good to go! I've attached an example from Carpokes' YouTube channel.

I had the rev match function go away the first year I owned my 718 GTS 4.0. Dealer replaced a transmission speed sensor. The second time it happened dealer did a SW update. No problems since then.
