Kayser Bypass Valve

I bought a new factory-style bypass valve this week. I discovered in the process that the OEM Bosch unit is no longer available, or at least I couldn't find one at any of the usual online stores. Dealers still sell them, but for $200 or so. So, I threw the dice and bought the Kayser valve now offered at places like Pelican and AutohausAZ, etc. Turns out Kayer (pronounced like Kaiser Hospital) is a family-owned German company. I mention that because this valve is a dead ringer for the original Bosch unit. They are either amazingly good at replicating parts or, as I suspect, they are using Bosch's tooling to make it. It even has the same stamp mark where the Bosch logo went, except it's left blank on the Kayser. Same rubber bladder inside too. Works fine so far too... At least on initial review, it seems like the quality alternative to the Bosch unit.

In 2021 I purchased an APR Billet R1 Diverter Valve for less than $170. They now cost $274.95. Ouch. It is pretty however, ha, ha.

I had the Forge one for a while, but it started sticking inside, so I gave up on it and went back to stock. The longer I own this car, the more I come to believe a lot of 'upgrades' aren't all that upgradey.

I've had the VNE version for over a year and working fine. $50 at FCP euro.

I've had the APR one for a while now, too. It works well and it was more responsive to initial throttle inputs; more so than the the Forge one that I replaced it with.

I think I paid about $120 or so back then....

I have had one for close to 2 years. You can't go wrong with them.
