Does anyone have issues with their keyless entry system? Occasional, when I touch the indent area on my driver side door handle, it doesn’t lock. If I try several times, it eventually locks. While grasping the handle to unlock, it always works. The issue seems to be worse when my cell phone is in close proximity to my key fob.

Whenever I have strange problems like this I usually put a new battery in the key fob and see if that helps. Good luck

Mine seems to work fine. What I do struggle with is the auto-fold for the side mirrors. Unless I hold down the lock button for several seconds, they don't fold

I turned all that off on the dash in my car. The car was constantly chirping when I'd work in the garage with the key in my pocket. And it seems like the ONLY time the frunk opens with a swipe of the hand is when I'm washing the car and it's dripping wet -- certainly not when my hands are full of groceries...

Yes, it's amazing HOW well it works when washing the car. You just get within a few feet and look at it sideways...and it opens. Arms full of stuff, and doing the Macarena on top of it won't do the trick.

The trick when washing newish Porsches is to leave the key in the car while washing. Doing that means no unwanted car locking or unlocking, no folding mirrors, no chirping, no frunk opening, etc. This also applies when using a wand wash/pressure wash.

The door locking on my 2018 Cayman is much like yours - most of the time fine, but occasionally takes 2 touches to lock it. Mostly the second touch does it, but every once in a while it takes a more deliberate 3rd touch. It has been that way for my entire 3.5 years of ownership. The fact that the keyless lock on my 2016 Audi has also behaved exactly the same for all 9 years of ownership makes me think that it's not the system, it is my casual, lackadaisical technique.

I had a similar problem when I bought my 991.2. At the end of the day, it ended up needing a new handle. (And actually, the first new handle they got also didn't work well, so they pulled a handle from a working car to double-check. The third new handle fixed it.)

Long story short, bad handles definitely exit. Warranty your car and show them what's wrong.

Also, FYI, the phone 100% interferes with the key working. As long as you don't put your phone and your key in the same pocket, you'll be fine.
