Is it OK to leave the car on jackstands for longer than 24 hours?

Like the title says, will there be any ill effects if I leave my car up on jack stands for more than a day? Waiting on parts to arrive before finishing a repair, all four tires are off the car. I know that this is a perfectly fine practice with more "modern" cars to leave them suspended on jack stands, but not sure if I would be stressing the suspension components on an older vehicle such as a 944 (this is my first real classic). Let me know what you guys think!

I sure hope not. I've left my car on jack stands for weeks on end for bigger projects -- haven't noticed any ill effects...

When you have it up on stands, It should not be on the suspension anyways. But regardless, it won't hurt anything as long as you have the stands under the approved jacking points.

Mine lives up on tall stands five months of the year. Higher than an average non-Olympic-level triple-jump mouse can jump. So far anyway. Use proper pucks or supports between the stands and the lift points, and you'll be fine.

Today was a rare day - I got the car up on the jackstands and off in the same day!

The longest I left mine on jack stands was about a month, as it took me several weekends to replace the flywheel. As long as you use the correct jacking points (as mentioned in the owner's manual) you should be fine.

Sadly I’ve had mine up for a year when I first purchased it. And then a few month stints. Don’t know if it matters but I usually remove the wheels if I leave it up that long, which fingers crossed won’t happen again.

Exactly the same as when mechanics put the car on a lift over the weekend. Diddly-squat.
If the car is jacked at the proper points, it's fine.

If leaving it on stands was detrimental half of us wouldn't have a car anymore!
