Engine mounts

Just placed an order for some Deutsche Parts motor mounts. Are these still garbage compared to OEM even though they are fluid filled?

My cheap mounts (Mahle, non fluid filled) have been fine for about the last 15k miles/5 years.
There are alot of differing opinions though and contextual reasons why you might want the expensive mounts over the cheaper ones, so this should be considered.
For instance if you are paying for install, you may want to go with OEM mounts (as replacement will be very costly).
If you are doing it yourself you may decide that the free labor makes it worth replacing them more often if the cheap ones do indeed fail sooner.

I do intend on doing the install myself, I’ve just heard horror stories of how difficult the replacement process is. I guess I can install these ones and see if I want to buy oem later depending on when these fail.

I am currently in the same situation. Although I bought the Hamburg-Technic mounts. Definitely doing the work myself even if I had the Porsche mounts. Looks like a PITA, but do-able. Hoping it works out for both of us!

Yea, hopefully the solid rubber mounts go well for you! You shouldn’t have to worry about the mounts collapsing like I might considering mine are fluid filled. My thought process was fluid filled aftermarket is one step above solid rubber aftermarket but we will see after I install them.

While Deutsche Parts motor mounts may be more affordable, they are generally considered inferior to OEM Original Equipment Manufacturer mounts, even if fluid-filled.

Well the “Deutsche Parts fluid filled” mounts I received came in a hamburg Technic box
So obviously these are the solid rubber mounts, but just out of curiosity can you hear the fluid in the hydraulic mounts “slosh” if you jostle them around? I guess some unrealistic part of me is still hoping that they are hydraulic and it’s impossible to tell the difference.

The Hamburg-Technic mounts that I bought were advertised on 944online as hydraulic. I tried to shake them to see if I could hear/feel anything. To no surprise, I cannot.
Our friends at 944online seem to think they are a good mount. For whatever that's worth. I'm hoping they work well. From their site

Oh, that’s good to know! That makes me feel a little better about these even though they aren’t OEM. What guide are you planning on following for yours?
