Im thinking about buying these to see if I can make them fit and look clean. Looks to put out superior light to the stocks.

Baja Designs make excellent off road lights. I have two sets on my Tacoma.
However you really cannot use these as fog/driving lights (they'll blind EVERYONE coming).
But for no traffic, back road driving, they'll definitely light the way.

I was intrigued by the same idea, using these to replace the factory fog/main-beams on my 928. These particular lamps are just a little spendy, especially for me anyway with the need for a 3D printer to make the housings. Plan would be to use just the lamps/lenses/reflector assemblies behind a clear but otherwise stock-looking lens.

The seller states that these are SAE-approved for highway use, but... SAE and DOT are different. If I have to argue with a judge over the legality on the road, the DOT rating and some aiming info are valid ammunition. The SAE-approved is less valuable. The critical issue will be the top cutoff in the 'fog' light, and holding it to a 75' pattern on the asphalt. The 'aux' main beams aren't really an issue I think. No need to waste the lighting above a level straight-ahead beam and not much at all off to the sides.

Im not to worried about them actually being DOT approved they are so low on the car it would most likely not be an issue. In my are everyone drives around with high beams on anyway rather then replace a burned our headlight bulb LOL.. Ill probably pick them up when I pull the bumper for paint work in the next few months. They are a littly pricy but Im hoping that means they arent junk.

I have the same worry about being in the bumper, but the I think the low mounting makes beam patterns a lot less forgiving. And more offensive to other drivers. I use the existing fog lights as DRL's, with high-output LED bulbs, and they are OK. But the LED's in the original housings are less than ideal. These might be a good option if I can fit them in the space and have them disappear in a stock-looking lens assembly.

SAE approval helps, but DOT certification is better for legal backup. Focus on the fog light cutoff keep it at 75' to avoid glare. Aux high beams should be fine if they stay level and narrow. Clear stock lenses would look clean.
