I've been impressed by the capabilities of the various PDMs since they came upon the scene a while back. I'd love to play with one, but none of my cars are in dire need of such a thing, and I no longer do much track car prep at my shop . . . . but I'll try to find a use casechris white wrote: Fri May 23, 2025 6:07 am Yes, some good can based gauges are out there. The latest fun is PDMs (Power Distribution Modules). Basically it’s a ECU for central electrics. It can access all data on the ECU and program high and low power outputs. Variable fan speeds based on coolant temps. Fuel pumps programed to prime and to cut off when RPM goes to zero. All with intelligent power management (no fuses, will reset when load goes back under the specified trip point). Turbo coolant pump runs based on different parameters….and new wiring to critical components. Everything is datalogged so you can look at performance (fuel pump draw over time).
Canbus wideband O2 sensors if you don’t have a built in controller
If you want to do weird stuff you could have your headlights go from on to off by slowly dimming them for 5 seconds…but that’s just showing off!
