This is a pretty good video.
It validates what I've pretty much always believed to be true.
But 19x... Wow.
I've used Techron in our vehicles for the last 30+ years. It was recommended to me when I bought my first P car in 1992.
I've also tried to use Top Tier gasoline whenever possible.
Cheers

This guy is a hoot and he's very good, at least in so far as a few videos of his I've watched. (I subscribed a couple of years ago but forgot about the channel - too many subscriptions and not enough time. Lol.) The research is top notch and the videos fun to watch.
I use Top Tier fuel too (here it's Shell 93) - the additives used in Top Tier fuels are what make them tops. Unfortunately we no longer have Chevron stations in the Nashville area but Shell gas is good too.

Yep, I really enjoy his videos as well.
I believe he owns SPEEDiagnostix oil testing laboratories. His videos are backed actual science/testing.
We used to have Chevron here in Oklahoma City as well. Now we really only have two "top tier" companies. Phillips 66, started in Oklahoma, and Shell. Ninety one octane only.
Cheers.
NB: I just looked online, and my local NAPA has 12oz bottles of Techron on sale for $5.50/ea.
Ordered 6 bottles that I'll pick up tomorrow morning after I take my son to school.

Many of the local Shell stations here have become Circle K stations so I no longer go there. I now go a bit further to the remaining Shell or the Chevron. In one of his previous videos he explained the benefits of PEA, the active ingredient in Techron. Did you catch his comment regarding an updated top tier rating for 2025 specially targeting direct injection engines?

I did! Not sure when or where or how it will be offered.

I did catch him mentioning the new direct injection standards, but I don't have a DI powered vehicle at the moment.
I'm sure the the new formulations will most likely help all forms of FI.
Cheers

Lake Speed Junior is the son of former Nascar racer Lake Speed . Junior is a certified tribologist and worked with JoeGibbs and Jake Raby to develope the " Driven " brand of engine oil . Charles Navarro of LN Engineering was also involved . Lake Jr knows his stuff and doesn't endorse anything without proper testing . I have met him once , he is a cool guy to listen to in person .

I have never subscribed to 'Top Tier' gas stuff. If it was established in 2004, then what benefits could be had in an engine from 1980? Possibly under highly highly highly modified engines, but in normal 944 motors? No, I don't think so.
I am open to having my mind changed with evidence to back up claims, but all I have heard over the years is hearsay and claims. The best was a Porsche dealership telling this guy with a 991 Turbo that because he used Mobil1 gas he destroyed three of the direct injectors in it.

@Gaspowered Great video and thanks for the info and link! Looks to be a good product that I'll add to my shopping list of on hand supplies.
