I have a 2003 911 Carrera and I'm curious to hear what you think of adding the Engine Flush when you change oil. I spoke with my mechanic, and he told me that it's not a good idea. According to him, it can affect the performance of your engine. There was an article in Jaguar World discussing this very subject and they had a different take. I also spoke with Downtown LA Porsche Service and they were more neutral.

Question for the readers have any of you done this and what is your experience?

No personal experiences using any kind of engine flush and I don't know of anyone has done it. Even though it might not do anything detrimental, my 2¢ would be an absolute "no". I would never use something like that on a Porsche. Hopefully others here who have better knowledge will chime in.

What problem are you trying to solve with the engine flush ?

I would be hesitant as what does the flush do to various seals in the engine, and if it was really important, I would expect some comment in an owners manual or service manual. I can't say as I've ever seen a race team or engine builder use it either. If it was an old car that has been sitting for quite some time it might assist in breaking down varnish or OLD oil residue that has thickened/sludged with time, but on an engine that gets regular use with consistent oil changes, I just don't see the need.

the data on their Amazon page indicates that the vehicle service is for bus or truck. In the description it mentions gasoline or diesel. Sounds to me like this would be for low stress truck engines. I would talk to your indie and see if he recommends something. I've only been driving Porsches for ten years, but have never used an oil additive.

Most engine flush products and most oil additives are just marketing. One of the best info resources out there is Lake Speed's web site - https://www.speediagnostix.com - and his YouTube channel: good analysis backed up by actual testing.
