Interesting article in Britain's TOP GEAR released as of today. It seems that a UK automotive design firm named Fifteen Eleven Design took upon itself the task of 'resto-modifying' a 914, but not just by adding a full Cayman engine package to the car. They substantively redid the car itself, although maintaining a readily recognisable exterior to a large degree. A video of the car is included and accessible at the URL here: https://www.topgear.com/car-news/big-re ... e-you-need. News of this was included in today's PCA E-Brake News, by the way, which is where I spotted it. If you have LOTS of disposable income and prefer the 'old school' approach to Porsches, this is something to consider stabling next to those Cayman-S models you already have!

They did a pretty nice job on the interior, especially that shifter.

I really enjoy seeing these kinds of projects and the seemingly free-form "throw caution to the wind" that's involved in the builds. The subtle color looks good to me and fits the car well I think. Agree that the interior is nice - that nostalgic look back to clean and simple is comforting.

To have your own constructed at ̶$̶3̶7̶0̶k̶ and up, well, it ain't cheap! ***Edit: just realized that the article price is in British pounds (GBP) not Euros, so the US equivalent is $440k and up. Wow!

But maybe this line from the article makes it ok if you've got the hankering and the dough: "The people at Fifteen Eleven Design, and by proxy Mellors Elliot, are warm, funny, welcoming. They’d make buying a car from them feel like being adopted by a slightly bonkers rally family. And that’s worth more than cash alone."

"throw money to the wind"......
Saw my 1st Porsche, in 1962, at age 11, whilst riding with Dad in his VW, in Tucson, AZ.
Love at 1st sight.... :shifty: Now, 35 Porsches later.....what can I say.
