My question is about valve adjustment? I have kept up with the factory schedule on this; but now with so few miles /year I'm wondering.
Of course valves on this engine are a mechanical system. Once valves are adjusted to their specified tolerance what is going to change them? Of course given metal wear as a consideration - but truly with the incredible oiling system - quality oil with frequent changes - and the metal quality Porsches specs? Seems to me this is going to be MANY miles down the road!
Any real world experience some of our members can share? Seems even given the aspect of metal parts wear - as minimal as it can be with a dry sump oiling system and top quality metal to start with - that say 60,000 miles is an appropriate service period for this item.?
I have owned this car since new - done 3000m oil changes with top quality oil for the first 30 years. Have done scheduled 30m and 60m services over that same time period. The car has 198,000 + miles on it by now. I'm retired so am doing maybe 1000 miles a year and have scheduled oil changes every 3 years.
Thanks for the consideration;
All the Best,
Greg
