Hello all, here are my steps to upgrade the dash speakers on my Boxster 986 (also works on 996 models).
Steps:
1 - Buy new 4inch speakers (I bought the Kenwood KFC-S106 speakers) 2 - 3D print the new speakers adaptors, you can download from this link: https://www.printables.com/model/745737 ... er-adapter 3 - Attach the new speakers to the new adaptors (you can bolt or use a very strong glue) 4 - remove the old speakers, it is hard to remove the screw closer to the windshield in my case I did with the help of a pair of pliers. 5 - Attach the new speakers to the speaker cover using the old bolts on the 3 fixing points.
6 - Wire the new speakers to the cables (you need to cut the old connector and connect directly to the speakers terminal (+ and -), be sure you are connecting to the correct pole.
7 - Assemble it back to the dash.
8 - Enjoy
