Harbor Freight Scanner/Reset Tool

Looks like Harbor Freight is now selling a multi-model scan tool. It bears a family resemblance to the iCarSoft units, so I wonder if that who really makes it (or if HF created a knock-off). The single model iCarSoft units are still cheaper, but if you have other cars, this unit purports to cover most cars. Would be nice to have so you can reset service intervals if nothing else. Nice thing about HF is that you can return it if it doesn't work. We need some brave pioneer to try it on a modern Porsche. :)

For that price, it better be capable of bi-directional code editing, but while I see the word "bidirectional" once, it doesn't claim to do code editing. It also only comes with one year of updates.

The Launch X431 I bought a while back can code, and came with 2 years of updates. Several of those (in the smaller screen sizes) are available from Amazon for less, and have Amazon's return policy.

Yeah, I think the bi-directional probably refers to resetting service codes, etc. In the FAQ, it says: "The ICON T7 does not support re-flashing or reprogramming functions."
