Hi,

I have an 86 944 n/an and am trying to find an oil leak or two. I think the dipstick tube is leaking and also the part in the picture. What is the part in the picture?
That pic is from behind the passenger wheel.

That's the lower balance shaft rear seal. It's a big o-ring that goes around that disk you circled. Pelican and Clark's have write-ups on changing it. Not a lot of expensive parts, but plenty of labor time....
