I have cleaned them now I need to remove off the pulleys to send out with the rest of the parts to get Zinc Chromate plated.

Going to take the bottom off the AFM also.

Anyone have a good source and manufacturer of the tool to remove the AC pulley?

More pics to come.

Looking crisp and clean. That makes me happy. :) Are you fixing something or just detailing? I did a write-up when I changed my compressor in case something in there is useful:

I did not have to remove the clutch since I swapped in a complete new unit. I've seen it done with and without a special tool. You can sometimes tap it off with a drift and hammer from the back lip (working around the circumference). Once it's off, there's a snap ring keeping the pulley itself on. Here's a video (no affiliation) that shows it, and suggests a tool for the clutch in the comments....

Just detailing.

I can’t stand looking at the pulleys having rust and peeling paint

The AFM along with another one I had sitting on the shelf were extremely dirty inside.

I don’t know what the previous owners were thinking.
I never ran either AFM’s but couldn’t stand seeing all the contamination when I was organizing parts bins.

I could easily see people destroying their engine by not fully inspecting the bypass channel in the AFM.

One cannot clean it properly without removing the bottom.

Plus I wanted to see what it looked like inside.

The bypass channel really only affects the idle mixture, and maybe light load cruising. On customer cars we pull the AFM and let some throttle body cleaner solvent soak in, then blow it out. It works great.

You are taking it to the next level, which is perfectly fine if you know what you are doing and seal the AFM properly.

Yep I have everything I need to seal it up again.

I didn’t take pics and I should have how bad these two AFM’s were.
Sand, dirt, oil, sludge, bugs and who knows what else.
They have been sitting on the shelf for quite a long time.
I’m never using them again but I will keep them around as I have a habit of collecting Porsche parts. Plus if I put a car back to stock it’s worth more than modified….Doubt I would ever sell though.

I have two versions of M-tunes and will be going full Standalone after I get the M-tunes working properly. Too stubborn to not sort out the M-tunes. I have 4 engines in my basement I am slowly building.
3 cars to put engines into.
