Tie down straps loosen when trailering the Porsche.

I am not sure why, but anytime I am trailering more than a short distance the tie down straps seem to loosen up. I have Rennline tie downs attached to the Cayman GTS, and I have MAC's straps ( arguably the best ) so using solid equipment. The Cayman is a PDK and I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if so what have they done to rectify. Checking the straps every 100-150 miles is a bit of a chore , but I keep wondering if there is a reason the car is walking a bit and loosening the straps?

Car is in an enclosed trailer and the only time in 40+ years have I had a similar issue was 25 years ago when I bought some crappy tie down straps. Appreciate any ideas or help.

I've trailered a lot over the years but never the GT4 so I have no answer.

However, I still have my trailer and if/when I do trailer the GT4, I'll try through-the-wheel straps that I have (and have never used) from Mac's. Properly used and attached, I don't think there would be any loosening whatsoever.

Oh, I agree, I am just wondering as I seem to remember some folks on another Forum talking about issues with trailering a Porsche and primarily ones with the PDK. I could not find the info and I figured someone on here would have experience. I have trailered for over 25 years and this is an odd issue for me with the Cayman and I am just looking to see if anyone else has had a concern.

Is the parking brake on? Maybe mark where the tires are when you start and see if the car is actually moving, or if something else is the cause? A camera might also help to figure it out?

The brake has not been on, but I have planned on doing that the next time around......appreciate the thought, Tom.
