FS: 944 2.5L Knife's Edge Crank

**Edit - price lowered to $500 plus shipping. If I don't get that for it....I'll turn it into an art piece.

I am selling an unused Knife's Edge Crank for a 2.5L 944. This would work on any of the following:

'83 - '89 944
'87 and '88 944 S
'86 - '89 944 Turbo

I bought this from 944online back in 2021 with the intentions of installing it on my 944 S. At the time, I thought it needed a full engine rebuild but it turned out to only need a refreshed head. I'm also selling the car so I no longer need it. I can ship this item or it can be picked up in person in Raleigh, NC. Shipping might be pricey due to the weight and the size of the box (with all the padding to avoid damage).

The spec sheet says "968" but I have supplied the email from Steve at 944online that it is for a 2.5L and NOT a 3.0L motor.

These are over $1K new so this would be quite a deal for someone - especially if they are doing a race build and want faster revving.

89 2.7 cars use the 2.5 crank, so this would work in that.

Anyway I have a customer who is interested in this. Is there any chance you'd be going to Atlanta in the future and could drop it off with Elliott (944Barn)?

Do you know if anything was done to help against #2 rod bearing wear?

Ah - good to know about the 89! Unfortunately, I won't be in Atlanta or near Elliott's place in Blairsville any time in the near future. I also won't be making it to 944 Fest in September, or I could have left it with Elliott there. If you want, I can box it up and get a shipping quote so you can share total cost with your customer.

As for oiling, I'd have to compare it to a regular crank to see if anything has been done to help w/ #2 bearing.
