I have a 2015 Cayman S. Recently I had the brake wear warning light come on but along with it my parking brake light also appeared on the dash. Pretty much within 2 or 3 minutes after the brake wear light. Judging by the smell at the rear wheels it appears that the parking brake is engaged. I thought with forward motion the parking brake should disengage (for those people who forget it is on and just drive). It is time to change my brake pads but wondering if these two issues are related? Will replacing the pads reset the parking brake engagement?
