Sport Chrono Reflection Solution?

Hello all! I assume others are experiencing the same reflection from the SC on the windshield at night, but has anyone found a solution? I can eliminate the reflection by holding my hand over it, like a visor/shroud, so maybe someone has found something that works in the same way that looks close to OEM?

Our 718 Bezel is still under development. :) If this is an issue for people, we could in theory incorporate a little hood over the top of the gauge....?

You read my mind Tom! I was thinking of something like this but no one makes the correct size and with the OEM bezel in place there is only about 1/16" to slide one in.

Cool idea. Will it be plastic or leather wrapped?

Fairly sure it could be either, though I'm still waiting to see how the 992 sports chrono bezel comes out in leather....

Bezel or bezel cover. Are you now willing to pop off your bezel?

I got a close look at a 718 bezel at a show recently and 'think' I could do a cover that clips on via the inner edge of the factory bezel. If so, I could do a hooded and non-hooded version without much extra trouble. Depending on how complex it is, I may also try to model and print a replica of the factory bezel -- although I think Bob Z has more pioneer spirit than most to actually remove the factory bezel. But maybe if there were a viable replacement available, folks would be less nervous removing theirs....?

If you come up with something Tom that eliminates the windshield reflection for the SC I am sure people will remove their trim ring!

Removing it is easy! Push down on the top of the surround, which allows you to get a trim removal tool between the trim ring and where it seats. Then take another very thin trim tool, or jewelers screwdriver (what I used) to get behind the trim ring and slowly start popping it out - when it is out enough to get your fingernail behind it just pop it totally out. When you put it back in just be sure to note how it goes back in - there are 3 indents for the tabs so just make sure one is at the top/center and snap it back in.
