F1: 217 MPH Drone Chasing Verstappen at Silverstone

This changes so much of what we see and know about race cars and what they do on track, F1 cars in particular since this video features Max Verstappen and the new for 2024 RB20 F1 race car.

The drone being flown is not at all automated - it's piloted by a human being who is extraordinarily skilled. A creation of the Dutch Drone Gods and others, it is one of the fastest drones in the world and is the fastest camera drone anywhere.

The incredible lap at the end of the video is in the rain and it changes much of what we think we know about how a race car performs from a purely visual perspective. The Verstappen lap adds enormous fascination regarding the wake, the very wet track, the speed, braking, cornering and car control. Everything visual is at a level I've never seen before, seamlessly covering an entire uninterrupted lap on a circuit the length of Silverstone (almost 3.7 miles). It's only going to get more sophisticated and better from here.

This is unique and has the potential to substantially change how races are viewed. I don't think you'll be disappointed If you like racing or new technology.
