Has anyone placed an Apple AirTag in their car? If so, what hiding places would you recommend?

I have them on most of my cars. Not foolproof but a cheap way of tracking. I stuck them under the lid of the battery cover as I recall.

Still probably a no-regrets and cheap thing to do, but see the link below. Apparently, Apple designed AirTags with safeguards to prevent them from being used to stalk people. Those same safe-guards limit it as as car tracker, though still better than nothing I'd say.

I use it in my 2008 Cayman S. Works fine.

To be effective with today’s smart criminals you would need to have about 5-10 hidden all over with speakers removed so they are harder to locate. I have another car that is on a frequently stolen list. First thing thief's do is rip out the factory GPS antenna and are aware of airtags. These cars are stolen in less than one minute as remote start has allowed that. Cheap tools on ebay allow thiefs to either program a fob in less than a minute or capture your fobs transmission hanging on your keyrsck in your house. Better bet is to put effort into preventing it from being stolen in first place. Keep fob in a faraday pouch and lock or duplicate the OBD port.
