I'm new to you guys (not Porsche). I've had 911 turbos, 928s and Cayennes. I do most of my own work and after wanting a lift for 30+ years, I'm redoing the garage and adding an in ground lift.

Aaaaaand, here's the Carpokes 'Garage Thread' where you can see what others have done and also showcase your own garage transformation as you work through the redo!

I see by your pic we have another Trackrat on here, glad to welcome you to the Forum. With that impressive list of toys I would say a lift it practically a necessity . Can't tell from the picture exactly what that Formula machine is , so do tell us a bit about that road course rocket.

I don't know about Track Rat, but I've been doing this stuff and been an instructor since the late '80's. A little racing: vintage and current stuff. It is a vintage Indycar: March/Cosworth 87C. It's one of the last years that you don't need an MIT computer whiz to run it. It also makes huge downforce and the sound of that Cosworth V8 at 12K rpm is brilliant!

I don't know if you are into doing C&C get togethers, but there is something going on every week. It's more about getting together with friends, talking cars and just hanging out for a couple of hours on Saturday mornings. This Saturday is at the Penske dealerships. You are welcome to join us.

Pro Auto runs a 'Platinum' group of events. They take place on various Friday mornings. It's targeted at high line cars and experienced track guys. Open track. Come in and out when you want. No run groups. Open passing. Egos at a minimum. It runs from 8-12:30 and you get lunch. i don't need the whole day. I just want a bit of fun and work on skills.

When I've done the regular Pro Auto in a Ferrari or a McLaren, it seems to turn the 'red mist' on in the children in Subarus, etc. They have $2500 on the line vs. $250K or more. Anymore, I'm OK with instructing with those groups... rather than dueling with egos, if you know what I mean.

I would love to join this type of event. As I don't see thins on the website I wonder if this is an insider only type of thing. I will ask about it this Saturday if the opportunity arises. And yes I do know exactly what you mean by dueling with egos, not my cup of tea either.

I think it might be a bit of an I know someone thing. When I do a track day in a road car, I want to drive briskly..... but I'm not going for the best lap times anymore. Since you know me :), send a PM and I'll see if I can find a link.
