Frayed Seatbelt

I have a 2022 Cayman GTS. I’ve noticed that the driver’s seatbelt is starting to get frayed with quite a few 1/4 inch loose threads. I showed my SA and we looked at several other cars that were in for service. Most of them had seatbelts that were starting to fray as well. I have not experienced this with other car brands.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I would try to get that replaced under warranty. Fraying seat belts at a point start to become a safety issue. My 33 year old seatbelts in my 944 are only just starting to, I plan to replace them with some body-match (white) belts at some point next year.

Definitely a very odd situation and in 30+ years in the automotive business I have never seen this. As a safety item they are likely covered for an extended warranty period , but I would go in now and have the Service Advisor order you a new one. It will be interesting if we have others start reporting of this concern, and thanks for posting.

Totally agree with this. I'd escalate the issue up the chain at Porsche or find a new dealer if they tell you a frayed seat belt is not covered by the warranty. In the meantime, maybe post some pictures.
