For those who missed my tongue-in-cheek (aka, cheesy) video in the sport chrono wait list thread, I ended up making a matching tachometer ring. I'm normally not into add-on bling like this, but this is kind of working for me, especially since it pops on an off anytime I want....

Nice work! I think it looks very OEM, and as you said, pops on and off depending on the look you’re going for.

that looks very nice, matches nicely. One thing I noticed in my car is that my red tach doesn't always show well. The red dulls out in certain lights and at night is barely visible. This would be a nice addition

Tom, the sport chrono bezel looks great on my 992. I'd buy a tech bezel too in racing yellow if you're making them.

I have lots of iron in the fire (i.e. 3D printer) these days, so I have not 100% refined the tach bezel to the point I'd like it. The sports chrono bezel just snugs over the factory gauge like a glove. With the tach, there is less to grip, so I'm working to perfect a snug fit that is easy to put on AND remove. Getting them to clip on tight is no problem, the challenge is to make them clip on nicely without being impossible to remove. On one of my attempts, I added a ridge/clip around the entire inner circumference of the bezel, and that thing was NEVER coming off. I had to very carefully break it off my tach! The last version I did (like version 20 if I remember) clipped on nicely and came off without too much fight, but I wanted to make it just a little tighter when installed. So bare with me. I'm not always fast, but I do tend to be relentless and keep chipping away.... Stay tuned.

I have to get back to work on the tach rings. It's 'almost' where I want it, but need to snug it up a smidge....

Happy to say, 22 versions later (twenty-two versions later!) I now have a clip-on bezel for the tach that fits like a glove -- just like the sports chrono bezel. I got rid of all the clips and other things I tried and instead just make it a little deeper so that it slides all the way over the factory tach. That's all it took. Wish I though of that 20 versions ago. I'm still experimenting with painting techniques for this ring -- it's bigger and more prone to flaws than the sports chrono, so bear with me a little longer while I sort that out. But, there is light at the end of the tunnel now, and it's very shiny.
