Thought I’d post on carpokes first that after 6 long months I took delivery of my 2022 CGTS yesterday! Drove it from the dealer 0.4 miles to the xpel shop for ppf and ceramic tint, and hopefully I’ll be able to get it tomorrow. I was in such a hurry yesterday to pick up my daughter from the airport that I didn’t even take time to snap some pics lol. But man, she looks and sounds fantastic!

Very honored that you posted here first. Thanks! :) You are the first of our 718 owners-in-waiting to report finally getting your car. It's high time! I was at a dealer yesterday and they had a new '21 GT4 on the showroom floor with a $30k additional dealer mark-up (asking over $173k!). So, you probably made money driving it off the lot! A rare accomplishment in the new-car-buying world!

Were you able to save your rear bumper from the dreaded dealer drill? Can't wait to see pictures.

Thanks Tom! And no, I wasn’t able to save it from being drilled in spite of me specifically writing him about it. Oh well, there just isn't much sense in sweating the small stuff. Besides, it’s a complete car - not missing tpms, sun sensor, electric steering wheel adjustment, etc.!

I’ll post pix as soon as I can!

Awesome. And a complete car to boot. What a weirdly 2021 thing to celebrate, but it's great to hear! The bumper holes get completely covered by the license plate mounts, so is of zero consequence honestly. They have such a routine with incoming cars at dealers, it's quite a challenge to get them to alter the routine....

Looks fantastic. Did they do the whole car in xpel -- that was fast!! That car feels like a modern day version of an old silver over red Ferrari 246.... Will you break it in per the (US) manual? I did the full 2k file break-in on mine, which was worse than waiting for the car. It was mostly superstition since even the dealer mechanics were telling me to jump on it after 1k....

Thank you! So I did a full front + rockers. Xpel’s rocker package also went just over the top of the rear wheel well and directly behind the rear wheel (which I was super happy with). I also had them put on ceramic tint since it gets damn hot here in the summer! Super happy with the work they did, and I pre-coordinated my delivery to them last Wednesday morning for pick-up on Friday. Highly recommend the Dallas XPEL shop for anyone in the dfw metroplex - a class act of folks who walked me through everything, let me chat with the techs doing installs on other cars, and didn’t push services they didn’t think were necessary.

On break in, I’m gonna do the the full 2000. But man, in sport mode it takes *no* effort for those rpm’s to pass 4000!!! The car is incredibly balanced - I don’t think I’ve ever felt such confidence / handling in a car - MUCH better than my prior bmw’s. And that naturally aspirated boxer 6 sound… THE BOMB!

Yesterday I placed my carpokes license plate frame and switched out the summer tires for a winter set - it’s gonna be my dd and I don’t want to deal with the car getting squirrelly during our Texas rainy season or the occasional winter conditions.

Only thing I haven’t nailed down thus far is my seat position - I have 18 ways and I think it’s gonna take some fiddling till I figure it out.
