718 Owners with Wireless carplay Dongles: What's the best?

Hi all... Waiting impatiently for my 718 so thought I would research what wireless carPlay dongle is the best. I did not think it would be this hard ha. All the forums I searched, people bash pretty much every popular dongle out there....

Is there a consensus here on which one works the best for you all?

I just want something reliable that connects relatively quick so I can play Spotify.

For those that have it, what's the main issue you face with them?

Works great 90% of the time. Occasionally need to ‘reboot’ it my unplugging and plugging back in.

I use a device from Ottocast to convert my wireless android/android auto phone to the plug in carplay on the car. Worked fine for a year. Now seems to be having issues with all the updated to android auto. I also installed an in-line USB on/off switch.

Really pisses me off that such a nice car and one has to do these things when a Kia comes with everything.

Apparently it's going to change dramatically as VW's nightmare Cariad unit sheds another 2,000 people. This comes after replacing all of the unit's top personnel earlier this year.

Porsche has apparently had enough and is leaving Cariad, heading to greener pastures (Google) for their infotainment needs.

I saw that. If or when they produce and upgrade for my car who knows.

Hey I'm curious, what is the purpose of the in-line USB on/off cable?
Thanks!

How are you liking the 5.0? Any annoying issues you found?

So far so good. Had a Carlinkit 2.0 before it, and honestly don't see much difference.

When the car was new, I didn't know that the USB outlet in the arm rest turned off after a while. Now it is easier the cycle power that way than to unplug/re-plug the USB.
