What does a person all need to do to add power locks to a car that didn’t have them?

acuators?
console switch?
module box?
anything else?

is the wiring all there and just need to add the components?

These are the only pics I have of the actuator mounting plate and electrical connector. If your door already has both, then mounting and powering the actuator is covered at least.

Others will have to confirm whether the cabin-side wiring is there, though I suspect it is. Under the switch location in my center console I have the electric connector for the rear wiper switch, though my car lacks that option.

The door handles each have a micro switch that triggers the power locks when the key is turned so that the other door also locks and unlocks. That has a separate much smaller electrical connector (that I never photographed).

I don't know one way or the other whether all door handles can accommodate that micro switch.

If you're planning to install a keyless entry alarm system, then having those micro switches probably isn't important since the alarm module will trigger the door actuators when you press the button on the remote

thanks usury, i think mine just had a larger plate with no mounting holes (whereas you have the T shaped piece with holes for mounting).

And i didn’t see any extra wiring in there for mine either.

I see the connector for the control box down under my dash by the steering wheel. I also have some old pix of my center console off and saw the empty switch connectors there as well. i think one is for the rear wiper and the other would be for the central locking system.

the one thing I need to know is if I can add the microswitch to the outside door handles.

usury you mentioned that you weren’t sure if that could be done or not. i asked a parts seller on ebay if that can be done.

it seems like the parts are:

- control module
- console switch
- actuators
- microswitches in door handles

seems like the wiring is all there - that’s how it was also when I added all of the cruise control parts to my non-cruise car.
