McPherson College students take Second Place in the Postwar Luxury class with their 1953 Mercedes-Benz 300S Cabriolet at this year's Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

Awesome achievement - hats off to the students and faculty at this small college in Kansas dedicated to doing its part to keep alive our magnificent automotive culture and heritage.

"Thousands of applicants apply to participate in the Pebble Beach Concours. Dozens are selected, and even fewer are called out by the judges as top in their respective groupings. There is no consolation prize for Pebble Beach, and the level of restoration has never been higher than in 2023."

My wife grew up in McPherson ( pronounced Mac Ferson ) and this little College has been getting huge kudos over the past two decades with a big car show each Spring, all done by the students majoring or taking classes in Auto Restoration . It is a show worth attending and I believe 2024 will be its 24th year of this well attended car party. The school is known Nationwide as possibly the best Automotive Restoration Degree available. For those in the Midwest it would make a great PCA cruise trip and with planning ahead the school might even offer a special insiders tour of their facility?

Not sure if you already knew of the good news regarding McPherson College or happened to read this thread that I posted on July 28th, but it is a testament that good still abounds!

I did not read it but there was a Television Documentary on the school years back, and having lived in Kansas for 30 years we tend to keep up with news in some of the towns we both lived in. I do appreciate you posting the news, great story and great achievement as you noted!
