Hello everyone I joined this site today . I currently have a 2002 Boxster S with a FSI 3.6 and a 1999 996 C4 with a FSI 3.8 . I have owned various air and water cooled Porsche's in the past . My wife and I are retired from Lockheed Martin . Nice to find another Porsche forum to hang out on .

Welcome and you will find this a fun, friendly Forum , with folks who understand the Porsche Passion and are willing to help. If you are in Northern Georgia , do you ever take your Porsches for a little romp around Atlanta Motorsports Park?

Excellent! Glad you found us and joined up - welcome to Carpokes!!

Lockheed Martin - what an awesome company with an amazing resume of world class aerospace, electronic and other highly technical products. (They may want you to un-retire and come back!)

Thanks for the welcome guys . No I haven't done any track time . In my past I did a lot of AX's and some DE's . That was fun . But in/near Dahlonega Georgia where we live there are so many great mountain roads I prefer driving those .

Between my wife and I we gave GE/Martin Marietta/Lockheed Martin 56 years of our lives across 3 states . While we enjoyed the work and benefits retirement is MUCH better !

Sounds like you might want to get back into autocrossing , retirement does allow more time for that exericise option for your Porsche ,ha. Wow, your are super close to Atlanta Motorsports Park , also , and I truly understand your comment on the roads in your area as my best friend in High School is just West of you and your wife in Ball Ground. The roads in Northern Georgia are truly a mecca for sports car touring.

Willy I appreciate the feedback . I have been retired for 5 years now and am busier than ever . Currently I am restoring a 1968 Avion C11 truck camper . Plus maintaining two Porsche's , my wife's XC90 and my GMC dually . I also have two major DIY projects for retaining walls . Plus a small fishing boat I would love to get back into . Even in retirement there are only so many hours in the day .

That's the truth (regarding hours in a day). My lament is always that there is insufficient time!

The Dahlonega area in the surrounding hills is nice. I've been to AMP a number of times and love the back roads there - they comprise the last parts of my route from to and from mid-TN. Unfortunately, I've always been in the truck, not a Porsche!

Welcome - we live in Gainesville and are in the Dahlonega are regularly when we are in Ga.
The drives around the area are awsome and we enjoy visiting Monteluce Winery.
PCA Peachtree Region has lots of events in the area.

Hope to see you around !!!
