Power steering supply line

I believe I have figured out that the supply line from the reservoir to the pump for the power steering actually wraps around behind the oil filter and then down to the pump - I could not figure out why it was so long!

It has two clamps on it to attach the line to *something* I assume to keep it from chafing.

Anyone have a photo of that line installed so I can see where the clamps go?

Thanks

There is an updated hose that is shorter and a more direct route. The P.S. reservoir has a filter in it that is non-replaceable. If it was mine, I would replace the hose and reservoir, also trim a small amount from the return line and install new clamps. Do not use the Ideal clamps from the local parts store because they cut the hoses.

Thanks @Cruise98 -

So does the new hose just go straight from the bottom of the tank to the pump? That looks like the most direct way. I am wondering if I can just trim this hose down since it is low pressure and seems fine (it does have some plastic coil wrapped around part of it.

I did purchase a new reservoir, btw.

Purchase a new line. I tried messing around with making one.
It's a suction line, and the plastic wrap on it is there to help against it collapsing.

You want to get the updated type (assuming your car doesn't already) where it connects to a nipple on the power steering pump instead of a banjo fitting.
