987/997 New Factory Stereo Communication System Upgrade
Hi, does anyone have any experience with the newly released factory stereo system upgrade for 987 and 997 cars ? They are starting to trickle into Dealer parts departments but not sure I want to be an early adopter on my ‘07 987 currently with PCM. Any thoughts ? Does everything connect as advertised ? Thanks in advance.

very long thread about this in the 997 forum on rennlist. people have had them for ~5 months now so you would not really be an early adopter at this point. reviews have been overwhelmingly positive in terms of integrating with the car and working as advertised.
the biggest complaint is the lack of wireless carplay. there are wireless dongles you can add on but the unit's only USB port is on the front which would be a little unsightly. someone did figure out how to swap that port to the year but it's non trivial.
