Speed Force Racing Control Arms for Late Offset Porsche 944. These are the mild steel version from 2017, prior to when they began using the full plate. One side has left-hand threads for the heim. Included is a spare brand new heim-to-spindle pin.
- Late Offset
- Mild Steel
- From 2017
- One new heim
- Other heim has about 1k miles
- New Red Urethane AutoFab B125 Bushings* (see below photos)
- New Spare heim-to-spindle pin
- Excess 12mm ID thick-wall aluminum spacer sleeve material
- NOT used on a race car - street car only
Last fall I stripped them to bare metal and painted them blue, because I like blue. These are the OLD rubber bushings and steel spacer sleeves.
Important Things
- *The red urethane bushings are brand new (AutoFab B125)
- Neither the original black rubber bushing nor the new red urethane bushings were an easy press-in fit
- I never uunderstood how to fit them properly
- you'll probably want to source new bushings and spacer sleeves
- The bushings seemed quite oversized for the hole they go into
That's when I decided I'd rather rebuild my stock control arms and sell these to someone who knows how to use them.
In Another Thread About Returning to Stock Control Arms, I replied to someone who asked what I didn't like about these control arms. This is what I said...
So, PM me. I'm happy to sell them to you. I'm in located in the greater Seattle area for an in-person sale. Or I'm happy to ship (US, definitely. Canada, maybe. Overseas, probably not unless you can really convince me.The tubular steel arms are probably great. The welds are beautiful and the construction is solid.
However, I've never really known how to set them up so I've never been confident in them.
The bushings were difficult to fit properly, and the adjustable heim provides way more camber adjustability than I'll ever need. I was never really sure if I had the heim joints in the factory location since fully bottomed out would be way positive camber.
Plus, I've never understood why one has left-handed threads, nor on which side that one belongs.
Since the control arms didn't come with an instruction sheet, and I could never locate one, I figured they are really intended for people who already know those kinds of things. I didn't want to reveal my ignorance previously, so I never asked.
Make me an offer if you think I'm way off on valuation.
