Last fall I stripped them to bare metal and painted them blue, because I like blue.

Important Things
  • *The red urethane bushings are brand new (AutoFab B125)
  • Neither the original black rubber bushing nor the new red urethane bushings were an easy press-in fit
  • I never uunderstood how to fit them properly
  • you'll probably want to source new bushings and spacer sleeves
  • The bushings seemed quite oversized for the hole they go into
The original steel bushing sleeves that came with the control arms had become pitted with corrosion. The replacements sleeves that I ordered from AutoFab for their B125 bushings were the wrong size to fit over the bolt that goes through them. So I found some 12mm ID thick walled aluminium that fits.

That's when I decided I'd rather rebuild my stock control arms and sell these to someone who knows how to use them.

In Another Thread About Returning to Stock Control Arms, I replied to someone who asked what I didn't like about these control arms. This is what I said...
The tubular steel arms are probably great. The welds are beautiful and the construction is solid.

However, I've never really known how to set them up so I've never been confident in them.

The bushings were difficult to fit properly, and the adjustable heim provides way more camber adjustability than I'll ever need. I was never really sure if I had the heim joints in the factory location since fully bottomed out would be way positive camber.

Plus, I've never understood why one has left-handed threads, nor on which side that one belongs.

Since the control arms didn't come with an instruction sheet, and I could never locate one, I figured they are really intended for people who already know those kinds of things. I didn't want to reveal my ignorance previously, so I never asked.
So, PM me. I'm happy to sell them to you. I'm in located in the greater Seattle area for an in-person sale. Or I'm happy to ship (US, definitely. Canada, maybe. Overseas, probably not unless you can really convince me. :) )

Make me an offer if you think I'm way off on valuation.

What do they use for caster blocks? I was going to rebuild the arms on my S2 but I would not be opposed to these instead. Going to updated 968 casters anyway, figuring that's what these need.

They do use the stock Porsche caster blocks, not necessarily the 968 ones. (Mine is an '87na.)

I don't have a picture that specifically shows the caster block end of these mounted to the car, but this pic should give some idea...

Sure enough they are. The caster blocks in those pics are these, pn 951-341-023-01-HBT

Fitment from '85na to '95 968 according to Pelican.

I installed these new caster blocks last summer/fall. Prior to that the car had its original 35-yr-old caster blocks. New suspension stuff is nice.

Really want these, but I went ahead and rebuild my original arms with Travis' (Rennbay) help this morning. At 150k miles both ball joints were only starting to fail, and one arm bushing was perfect and the other was just starting to fail thanks to fluid leaks.

The Rennbay kit is great. I used it to rebuild my factory control arms, too. I think I made a post about it even.

Congrats on the rebuild! If you haven't already, replacing the rubber sway bar bushings also makes a noticable difference.

I have poly bushings on my F/sway bar (26.8) and my R/sway is on original bushings (fine cond.) but the links are adjustable helm joints from BDR.

Trying to find a 30mm hollow and 19mm 3 way (or 5 way) adjustable, second hand.
Porsche only sells the 30mm solid one now.
