I am a new member here but not new to Porsche. I have had many transaxle cars since 1995. I have also been a rennlist member since about its inception. My current car is a pristine 1989 944 Turbo with 23K original miles. The car is currently undergoing a 3.0L turbo/6-speed conversion using as many factory Porsche parts as possible. The conversion has been in process for longer than I care to admit but I am finally motivated to finish it as other motor driven hobbies have subsided. It is time to get this car finished so I can once again drive and enjoy it.

Welcome aboard Chad -- I remember you from Rennlist (I was tom m'guinn there)! We need some pictures of that 23k mile car!! You may know I did a 3 liter motor for my car (and have another in the hopper). My 3-Liter Registry Thread is still a stickie over there, but I think it's lost its juice. I'm working hard to bring back the spirit of those earlier days here on Carpokes, before private equity took over that site and started doing their thing. Lots of 944 folks have already discovered us, so you're in good company. Looking forward to hearing about the project!

Hi Tom. I absolutely remember you and I am still listed on that 3.0L build registry. 🤣 How have you been? I sold my original 89 951, that I started the conversion on, to a friend back in 2014 when I found the gem that I have now from a PCA member in GA through a Panarama issue. I punted on the restoration of my other car when I found this one. It made so much better financial sense.

Here is a link to my rennlist gallery when I got the car and a photo of how it currently sits. The car still looks the same outside of being on my lift with a different set of wheels and the drivetrain partially disassembled. It was driven a couple hundred miles then put on my lift for the work in 2016 and it hasn't moved since. 🤦‍♂️ I am working hard on remedying that.
