Now that there are more members, wondering if we could split the water cooled 911 forum into either their own group or into subgroups?
996
997
991
992
996, 997, 991, 992 Turbos
Would be easier to subscribe to specific forums most interested in... maybe?
Thanks for the consideration,

Initially, my hesitation was not to create a bunch of forums without much traffic, so combined broad groups like this to concentrate the discussion in one place and keep it more active. With each new member, that concern fades a little more though, so probably a good suggestion and topic for discussion. What do others think?ASMR_IRL wrote: Fri Apr 07, 2023 9:21 am Now that there are more members, wondering if we could split the water cooled 911 forum into either their own group or into subgroups?

Thanks for the consideration,
Maybe start with a baby step by separating 996/997 into one forum, and 991/992 into another? Absent a big tuebo-tuner contingency, to me it makes more sense to keep the Turbo cars with their non-Turbo models (i.e., 991/997, including Turbos). Especially as Porsche starts putting turbos on base cars, the distinction is blurring more every day. I have a 992TTS and would think it has a lot more in common (bumper to bumper) with the other 992 models than it does with the 996/997/991 Turbo models.... ?
I've also been thinking about the "All Things Porsche" forum and wondering if it would be better merged into the OK Corral. I originally included that forum because we did not cover all the Porsche models like Panameras, and Macans, etc., but now that we have a forum for every car Porsche has built, maybe the All Things Porsche is just confusing?
Would love to get feedback!

1) I like your idea of separating water-cooled into two - a 996/997 forum plus another for 991/992.Tom wrote: Fri Apr 07, 2023 11:49 amInitially, my hesitation was not to create a bunch of forums without much traffic, so combined broad groups like this to concentrate the discussion in one place and keep it more active. And yes, definitely mix in the "Turbo" models - it's the 99 designations that make the most sense, rather than capital "T" turbos. There's no need to even mention the Turbo models specifically - no reason to use the words "Including Turbos" in either of the two new sub-forum headings. Keep it simple and direct.
2) As you've suggested, I'll vote for moving "All Things Porsche" into "The O.K. Corral".
3) I'd also consider moving the "In The News" sub-forum to "The O.K. Corral". By doing so, the home page becomes even more uncluttered and less balkanized. Maybe more members would gravitate to "The O.K. Corral" for all of the good non-specific Porsche discussions that are fun, newsworthy and conversational.
Could even then make "The O.K. Corral" the site's headline sub-forum instead of "In The News".
No matter what, "O.K." needs an icon! Ferdinand? Elford's 907?
Something...these were just quick ideas and pics I had handy. (Mr Ferdinand Porsche born September 3, 1875.)

Those splits are already in place - they were done a couple of weeks ago and are looking good! Thanks for your vote!
