It is pretty cool! Amazing that there are already references to 15-yr-old Porsches being described as classics.

I keep wondering how our modern 992's, 718's and whatnot will be kept running 20, 25 and more years down the road. What happens if some high tech part fails and there is no replacement? Will critical and other replacement parts and gear even be available? If so, will it be financially practical to replace failed parts? Who will work on the cars? Ship it overseas to Porsche Classic? Hah - they'd probably ask for a $500k deposit (in today's dollars) just to start.

I don't know - the air-cooled guys and others with simpler vehicles from long ago will probably have the last laugh. Those older, less complex vehicles will still be around. There will always be those who can fabricate and innovate for those kinds of vehicles. Not sure about our new cars however............

I can’t wait for mine to come in. I’ve got an 06 911 4S and a 07 Cayman. The original sound system works very well in the 911 but it’s hideous and the buttons are turning to goo. The PCCM should be about $1500 plus installation. Do I need it? No. Do I want to spend that kind of money? No. But the next person getting this car will be my son when I’ve assumed “room temperature” so I’m going to own her for many more years and want it the car exactly the way I want it and modern sound is definitely a must

Hopefully, by the time you're "room temperature" the replacement system will be long outdated technology
