My 958.2 GTS is having an issue - Under heavy acceleration it pulls hard until the revs reach about 3500-4000 and then I feel a distinct loss of power or hesitation. It keeps revving after that but the power doesn't seem to be there.

My car has a Tiptronic of course, but when it happens it feels almost like the clutch is slipping, if it was a manual car. I notice it mostly in 3rd and 4th gear.

Could this be the dreaded transfer case issue I've heard so much about?

Check to see if it's developing turbo boost at the time it's showing symptoms. There was an issue with computer/DME programming that would withhold boost under specific conditions. IF that's the problem, a DME update at a dealer might resolve the issue.

It was the factory blow off (diverter) valves. I replaced them with EVOMS diverter vales at Flat 6 Motorsports and the boost stays on longer and she goes like hell.
