New Year's Day Car Show (Atlanta area) + a cruise

It's at:
PANERA BREAD
1195 Woodstock Road
Roswell, GA 30075

They mix up cars but why not we just park together? It's a big lot so the first guy parks a few places off the main grid (there are hundreds of places)?

Mark texted me as he has a Porsche 911 T in Miami Blue. I'll be there with my Porsche 911 Turbo in Agate Grey. Everyone is welcome.
----
In addition, Mark and I are looking to a separate long drive on Monday (1-2-23). This is a Federal holiday so less normal traffic. If the roads and weather are clear, we will hit the Six Gaps.

BTW, a Gap is a mountain peak. The fun is driving up and down the Gaps.

I’m not sure I can make it, but what time does the car show start? Sunday for the car show, Monday for the drive, correct?

Yes, the car show starts at around 8:00am. I like rolling in at around ~9am or so (weather permitting). This is the morning after the big Georgia football game.

Peanut and I made the Monday cruise date. It's 1-2-23. The times are not exact at this time. We need to get started early enough for open road spaces. It's also a bad-ass cruise up in the mountains on dry roads.

We will also move over and park at many times for pictures and bathroom breaks. It's an experience and not a race or rally thing. I'd say 4 hours tops. You can peel off after 2 hours. Just report it as we leave no one stranded in the mountains.

I did part of that drive back in September in my GTS, did Blood Mtn(Neels Gap) three times, great driving roads, and not too far from my home in Alabama. Matter of fact, my profile pic was taken on that trip, but on the Cherohala Skyway.

Darn Bill,
I'd be glad to drive your 2021 718 GTS 4.0, AGM/Espresso/ Cognac car in the big mountains if you can't make it.

I know Fort Payne as it's just over from Lookout Mountain, GA and Dade County, Ga. Ya'll sold us beer back when we went to Fort Payne to get our beer?

Where did you get Porsche parts and cars from there?

I've bought all my Porsches from Chattanooga, got my 944 and 944T back in the 80's and my 981 an982 GTS there too from the same salesman. Bought the '17 Cayenne there too. Matter of fact we drove up to Chattanooga today for wife to return some shoes, 45 minute drive. Wish I could join you on the 2nd for the driving, should be fun.

Bill,
My Mom was from Missionary Ridge in Chattanooga. I know the area.

I had a romantic relationship with a girl from Trenton, GA, She was hot but later married the Sheriff so I didn't go there after that for obvious reasons.

Anyway, I got to the car show in my new car. Peanut got codes on his Porsche T that morning, so the dude had to bring his rare 1973 Porsche 911S 2.4L.

In my excuse, the GA team won a play-off game against the Ohio State team at the midnight time. I may have celebrated too much after midnight.

It's on to CA with our walk-on QB with a bunch of injured players. I hope we can score 7 points against this powerful TCA football team.

I don't think you'll have much trouble with tcu, after all you have a Sabin-trained coach. I think Bama showed in the Sugar bowl that we still have a little mojo.

Bill.
I say no due to our injuries. Even then our guys are not as big upfront. We are obviously outmanned at each position.

I just hope that our coaching staff and our players can do well.

Heck, we lost our best 5 players in the 1st round of NFL last year (16 guys overall). TCU will be the better team.

TCU did get some breaks that helped against Michigan, but their offense does fire on all cylinders regardless. Vegas sure seems to like Georgia though (13.5 point favorite right now). Looking forward to the game. :)
