Hello Carpokes,
I am a new member having just recently purchased my first Porsche. It's a new '22 911 GTS Cabriolet 7 speed. I've been a sports car owner since '78. Have an MG Midget, had a C2 '65 Corvette Roadster (327 / 365 hp 4sp), had a pristine '01 BMW Z3 which I sold to make room for the new 911. Also have/had several BMW 5-series, always with 3 pedals until my latest a 540iX M-Sport (no manual transmission option available).
I purchased my 992.GTS from Porsche of the Main Line in Philly and have subsequently read of others who have had a good buying experience with them. I concur whole-heartedly. They were excellent to work with in all aspects of the sales, purchase, and shipping transactions.
Before the car saw any highway time, I had it entirely PPF'ed (3M Pro Series). Because we have winter here in CT, the car is ready to hibernate for 90 days or so and since I just got to 1000 miles, the tachometer has yet to exceed 5000...something to look forward to next driving season. Needless to say, the car is amazing. The transmission / engine are the best pair I've ever had the pleasure to operate. Driving a rear-engine sports car takes me back to my Formula 1600 racing classes at Lime Rock...such a pleasure.
I'm looking forward to learning a lot about my new 911.992 on the Carpokes forum.

Welcome to Carpokes! I'm a total sucker for Guards over black like that. Gorgeous! (My last 911 was Guard Red over black, with 3M ppf; and my 951 is Guards over black, also with 3M ppf.)

Welcome to Carpokes!
Yes indeed - the gorgeous C2 'Vettes! I had a '66 427/390 4-sp roadster with side-pipes and true knock-offs. Raw. loud, and fun. I had it for 25-years. Probably should have kept it.

Guards was always my desire for a first Porsche... if I ever purchased one.

My '65 looked similar to yours; red over black with black convertible top. It wasn't a 427, but it was all matching numbers and just 65k miles. Sold it in 2006 after 15 years of ownership.

Your '23 cab looks great! Are there (m)any changes to it from the '22 version...besides the MSRP

? Is is PDK or 7sp? The 135i cab is pretty unique looking. I don't think I've seen one of those tooling around ever.

Twins! However, no matching numbers on my '66. I sold mine 12 or so years ago. It had a white convertible top that I was intending to dye black but never got around to doing. I also had the removable hardtop in red which I preferred anyway as it looked better to me. For some reason, I also enjoyed driving it more with the hardtop on.
I'll always remember a long trip to Key West I took in the car somewhere around 1987. Two full days driving each way. It was a fun experience. No breakdowns! No hardtop for that trip either. Convertible all the way!
Memories!
