Before I make a mistake

When I get my car at the end of next month, and order personalized plates for it, I want to make sure it is nine eleven, not nine one one. Right?

In my state we can put actual words on a personalized plate. I can choose between eleven and one one.

I think most people say 9-eleven.... 9 one one wouldn't be wrong per se, but sounds more like the emergency phone number to me. If you are using numerals, then 911 or 992 (without or without other stuff) would work too....

I agree. I’ve never heard a 911 called “nine one one.”

In GA you cannot use anything that is close to 9-1-1 because of the emergency telephone.

I have been running into the same problem in Nevada, but XI seems to work.
