Great to see in the VP Racing Sportscar Challenge that the GTDX Class was won by Adam Adelson both on Thursday and today ( Friday ). It will be interesting to see how Adam does with Elliot Skeer driving the Wright Motorsports GT3R in the 24 hours starting Saturday 25, 2025. Adam has to be pumped going into the race after the double wins in the VP Sportscar Challenge!

"Increase in IMSA Popularity with OEMs Creates Space Problem for Series"
https://www.autoweek.com/racing/more-ra ... d568259d8a
A few of the quotes in the article:
"Great show. Great racing. Even after 24 hours, the Rolex once again left race fans wanting more. And therein lies a bit of a quandary. There's no room for more."
"IMSA President John Doonan said this weekend at Daytona International Speedway that 89 cars applied for entry into this year’s race. Plus, there’s a buzz that Genesis could be bringing a GTP GMR-001 LMDh prototype to the GTP field as soon as 2027. Ford is another manufacturer believed to be weighing a possible GTP program."
"Full-season entries get first priority for those 61 spots at Daytona. This year’s field included 236 drivers and 18 manufacturers. Doonan had to say, “Sorry, no room at the grid” to 28 entries that wanted to play in the Rolex 24 sandbox at Daytona Beach this week."
I guess this isn't a bad dilemma for the series. It's definitely better than having too few participants.

Space on pit road and in the garages are at a premium in this era of IMSA at Daytona.

More rumors that are probably going to turn into realities soon -
"With McLaren and Ford GTPs Rumored, Porsche's Rolex 24 Dominance Faces New Challengers."
"President John Doonan said additional GTP cars are in the pipeline. He referred to McLaren and Ford by their respective colors of papaya and blue in a pre-race press conference on Saturday.
