Engine shops that don’t follow the factory manual and technical bulletins should be sterilized. I have plenty of tools for this on the family ranch.

No F:(&!ng oil seal on the pickup tube just silicone

Thanks Michael

That’s one of the ones I was referring to.

Erik had texted me photos of another which in my haste I deleted from my phone…..it’s Monday so hopefully I find it by tomorrow lol.

Thanks gents, I do have the water pump TSB (as part of the alldatadiy subscription). Does that relate to the bolt with flange-nut spacer thingie Gruhsy showed in the picture below? It's been too long to remember the specifics, but there was some unexplained mystery about the oil pump bolts and that particular fastener. Whatever I did, I guess it worked after 30k+ miles....

This one....

As you can see that bolt is attached to the oil pump.
Erik is still searching for the paperwork.

In his searching he did come across the original paperwork for the engine build.

Not surprised at the fact it didn’t have the oil pickup tube listed in the charges for parts.

Yikes, I guess I'll spring for the $2 oil pick-up seal for my next motor. Think that crank will polish out or would you have it machined/hardened? I have one from a 2.7 motor (78.9mm) you can have, but I can only imagine what they'd charge to ship a 65lb crank to you....almost certainly more than it's worth.
