I'm surprised I didn't post them back when we did these. Maybe that was before we had the STL download section here on Carpokes? In any event, I'm sure I still have the STL's -- just have to dig them up from the depths of my computer somewhere. I'll post them in the STL section when I find them. If you end up printing them and using them, please don't be shy about posting online where you got them.

Great info here.
I recently acquired a new pair of the 944-645-419-00 mid-range speakers from Porsche for my 944S2 cabriolet with the HiFi system, not as expensive as I thought they would be at less than $50 apiece.
I'm glad the original owner of the car didn't rip out the original Blaupunkt Reno 2 cassette player and equalizer, it really adds to the overall vibe of a cruiser like the S2 cab, even if the sound quality is not what a modern system would provide.

I just picked up a 3D printer for Christmas and printed these out for my '89 Turbo and they worked perfectly! Nothing better than stumbling upon the exact thread you need with a killer solution.
Curious if anyone else has had issues with their 10-speaker tweeter screens? The plastic rhombus looking part that covers the speaker. Both of mine are intact, however, the securing tabs on the back have all given up ages ago. Has anyone attempted to model an STL file on these to print? I'm a complete beginner in the 3D printer space but I have to imagine I'm not the only one who's dealing with this issue.
Thanks again to for everyone's hard work on this thread!

Sorry if this is redundant with other info deeper in the thread. I was able to find an exact fit 3” 4ohm speaker replacement for the midrange. Yes, I know it won’t be perfectly voice and level matched to the woofer and X-over, but it should be higher quality and sounds good enough to me over the wind noise. FaitalPRO 3FE22. Unfortunately, looks like they've about doubled in price since I bought mine.
edit: also the woofer surrounds were refurbed with an amazon 5.25" kit like this one. Can't find my receipt to confirm the exact kit. Really very easy to do.

My driver's side tweeter cover lost its securing tabs as well.eastersm wrote: Sun Jan 04, 2026 8:01 am Curious if anyone else has had issues with their 10-speaker tweeter screens? I took three small pieces of 3M double sided tape and remounted the cover. When mounted it looks as good, if not better, than before the tabs broke.
I've removed and replaced it a couple of times with no damage to the cover or the vinyl on the door card.
My 944 has burgundy vinyl, so color matching a new printed cover may not be easy.
Cheers
